  • Participation by English domiciled first time entrants to HE courses at UK HE institutions and English, Welsh and Scottish FE colleges, as measured by the Higher Education Initial Participation Rate (HEIPR), was a provisional 40 per cent in 2006/07 - down from 42 per cent in 2005/06.

  • There were 269,000 English domiciled first time entrants into UK HE institutions and English, Welsh and Scottish FE colleges in 2006/07 - a decrease of 12,000 from 2005/06.
