David Miliband gave an important
speech on 8th January at the North of England Education Conference, which outlined
the Department's vision for personalised learning as the route to maximising opportunities
for every learner. To help schools make personalised learning a reality for all,
the DfES is looking to develop a new relationship with schools and LEAs. This
will include a simplified school improvement process, improved data flows, and
