Revised 25/01/10 - Closing a Maintained Mainstream School - A Guide for Local Authorities and Governing Bodies
This guide has been updated to reflect changes introduced by the School Organisation and Governance (Amendment)(England) Regulations 2009, which came into force 1/9/09. The Notice Builder tool and the complete proposal templates available via the Standard Forms section of this website, also reflect the changes. Guidance Supplement - Closing a Special School
We have started to publish supplementary guidance which summarises the additional points to be taken into account when proposing to open, close or make changes to special schools. Those who are proposing or making decisions on special schools will be able to use the guidance relating to mainstream schools, using the supplementary guidance to identify any additional or different requirements.
