Education

  • Pupil funding - For 2005/06, this government has allocated an extra £1200 per pupil in real terms to North Lincolnshire Local Authority since 1997/98, an increase of 43 per cent.
  • The number of 5,6 & 7 year olds in classes over 30 has FALLEN from 1738 in 1997 to 0 by January 2005.
  • 370 MORE teaching assistants than in 1997
  • 480 MORE support staff than in 1997
  • Primary school results - Revised figures for 2005 show that 73 per cent of eleven year olds reached the required standard in English up from 61 per cent in 1997. In Maths this number is up to 70 per cent from 63 per cent in 1997.
  • Provisional figures for 2005 show that 79 per cent of eleven year olds reached the required standard in English and 75 per cent in mathematics in North Lincolnshire LA.
  • GCSE - The percentage of secondary school pupils in North Lincolnshire LA achieving 5 or more good GCSEs is up from 42 per cent in 1998 to 50 per cent in 2005 (provisional).
  • In 2005 there were 3300 free part-time early education places taken up by 3 and 4 year olds in maintained, private, voluntary and independent providers
