Pupil funding - For 2005/06, this government has allocated an extra £1730 per pupil in real terms to Southwark Local Authority since 1997/98, an increase of 41 per cent.
The number of 5,6 & 7 year olds in classes over 30 has FALLEN from 800 in 1997 to 0 by January 2005.

Primary school results - Revised figures for 2005 show that 70 per cent of eleven year olds reached the required standard in English up from 50 per cent in 1997. In Maths this number is up to 62 per cent from 50 per cent in 1997.
Provisional figures for 2005 show that 72 per cent of eleven year olds reached the required standard in English and 67 per cent in mathematics in Southwark LA.
GCSE - The percentage of secondary school pupils in Southwark LA achieving 5 or more good GCSEs is up from 29 per cent in 1998 to 44 per cent in 2005 (provisional).
In 2005 there were 6000 free part-time early education places taken up by 3 and 4 year olds in maintained, private, voluntary and independent providers
