DCSF: Teachers' Experiences of their Second Year in Post - Findings from Phase IV of the Becoming a Teacher Project Research Information

DescriptionThe Becoming a Teacher (BaT) project is a six-year longitudinal research project (2003-2009) exploring beginner teachers experiences of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), induction and early professional development in England. This report presents findings relating to beginner teachers experiences of their second year in post (referred to as Wave 4 of the BaT study). The study of second year teachers involved a telephone survey of 1,973, in-depth face-to-face interviews with 64, and e-mail exchanges (ejournals) with 45. The survey and interviews were conducted close to the end of the participants second year of teaching mostly in June-July 2006.
