DCSF: Language Learning Provision at Key Stage 2 - Findings from the 2007 Survey Research Information

DescriptionThis research assessed the nature and extent of language learning provision at Key Stage 2 (KS2) in schools in England, and the progress towards the target set in the National Languages Strategy that all children should have an entitlement to language learning in class time in KS2 by 2010. This research reports on findings from the 2007 survey. Findings from the 2006 survey were published in June 2007. A full report on all three years of the survey will be published in the Spring of 2009. The research consists of an annual survey of a nationally representative sample of primary schools and all local authorities (LAs) in England, to be conducted in the Autumn terms of 2006, 2007 and 2008. Response rates to date have been good and there is confidence in the accuracy of these findings.
