DCSF: Parent Know How - Telephone Helplines and Innovation Fund Strands Evaluation Research Information

DescriptionThis evaluation assessed the extent to which providers of the telephone helpline and innovation fund (web and social media) services, funded through the new Parent Know How programme from 1 April 2008, had met the needs of parents and performed against their contractual or grant commitments. The evaluation also provided benchmarks for future investment. The evaluation comprised monthly and quarterly monitoring of providers activities, outputs and deliverables and an analysis of cost effectiveness was undertaken. Telephone and web based surveys of 2,351 parents accessing the services were carried out. In-depth telephone interviews with 75 parents and regional workshops with 77 parents formed a further part of the evaluation.
