The report examines the effect of class size on pupil attainment and classroom processes in English schools in Years 4-6. These findings are drawn from a large scale study of class size and pupil adult ratio differences, which followed up pupils throughout Key Stage 2 (KS2) in the range of class sizes found to occur in schools, as well as systematic observations and case studies of selected schools with large and small classes.
