To continue to measure the DCSF / Department for Culture, Media and Sport joint PSA target to “Enhance the take-up of sporting opportunities by 5 to 16 year olds so that the percentage…who spend… two hours each week on…PE and school sport within and beyond the curriculum increases…to 85% by 2008, and to at least 75% in each School Sport Partnership by 2008”

The survey asked for information from all 21,917 partnership schools in the maintained sector in England. Virtually all schools replied to the survey, and the vast majority did so online (a paper option was also available).
