
Checklist for quality improvement strategy
- Does your institution have a written quality improvement strategy or policy?
- Is it meaningful and substantial, or simply a bland statement of good intentions that anyone could claim?
- Does the policy or strategy clearly state how you assure the quality of your provision in sufficient detail to be credible?
- Does it refer to the elements you use in constructing your quality improvement arrangements and show how they fit together?
- Does the strategy make clear how each of the elements impacts on all the key learning processes?
- Do staff and vocational instructors understand the strategy and implement it effectively?
- Does the strategy show the methods for quality improvement? These methods are likely to be different for each prison or institution.
