WRITER BIOGRAPHY
Caroline Hudson is a freelance research and development consultant who specialises in issues related to social exclusion, especially adult learning, offending and education, and family structure. She was previously Basic Skills Advisor in the Home Office National Probation Directorate, for two and a half years. Within criminal justice, she has researched offenders on community supervision and young people in custody. She has also conducted research on children in care, school attendance and truancy and preventative police initiatives in comprehensive schools. Her doctorate was on young people's perceptions of the relationships between their family structure and educational achievement. She also has 13 years' experience of teaching English and managing an English department.
