Employability

Employability refers to the ability of an individual to get a job and their ability to retain it.

For the individual, employability depends on the knowledge, skills and attitudes they have and the way they use those assets and present them to employers.

There are links between education, training and employability. A DWP study on the wider benefits of education and training (DWP, 2002) says that those who have in the past demonstrated poor employability are likely to be less employable in the future.
