WRITER BIOGRAPHY
Marrilynne Snowden has worked as an independent consultant since 2001. Before this she was Head of Student and Community Services in Coventry Local Education Authority for 10 years, where she led a branch that included special educational needs, early years, community education and family learning. Before joining Coventry, she held senior management posts in other LEAs and gained considerable experience in managing adult basic education, adult education, staff development and management training. Since becoming a consultant, she has conducted research projects for national organisations and local Learning and Skills Councils, and has supported many local authorities in different aspects of their work. She is an additional inspector for the Adult Learning Inspectorate. The Guide was updated by Andrea Mearing.
