Skills for Life Learning materials project
About the Skills for Life materials and their distribution
As part of Skills for Life, the national strategy to improve literacy and numeracy, the DfES has funded the production of learning materials referenced to the national standards and curriculum documents.
Each teacher reference pack of Learning Materials contains:
- an introductory booklet
- a full set of Learner Materials from Entry 1 to Level 2
- the pre-entry model unit
- a full set of teacher notes for the teacher’s subject
- the relevant audio CD-ROM (cassette tape versions are available separately)
- a CD Rom containing the learner materials in PDF and Word formats and a guide called the ‘Rules and Tools’
- the booklet Broadening Access to the Skills for Life learner materials
We have introduced one copy per caller for literacy, numeracy and ESOL. We have also capped 10 copies of the Learner Materials per caller. This is done to ensure providers take every opportunity to reproduce them from the CD-ROMs that are enclosed in the teacher packs.
If you would like to order copies of the Teacher Packs and the Learner Materials for literacy, numeracy and ESOL, please ring the DfES Publications Team on 0845 60 222 60 or e-mail dfes@prolog.uk.com
