ABOUT THESE TABLES

General

All schools with sixth forms and Further Education sector colleges with results in England are included. Schools and colleges appear in alphabetical order, LEA by LEA. Special schools that have chosen to be included and sixth form centres or consortia are also listed.

How the tables were compiled

The first full set of results in the new GCE and VCE A level qualifications following the introduction of Qualifying for Success reforms in 2000 were issued in the summer of 2002, and these tables reflect those results. The General and Vocational A level, AS examination and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results were provided by the awarding bodies concerned and made available to schools and colleges for checking in September 2002 and again in January 2003. The schools and colleges themselves provided the other specified vocational qualification results included in the tables.

If a school or college did not confirm that it had checked its examination results and/or background information, the initials 'E' or 'B' (or both) appear after its age range.
