All Parent Know How services receive funding from the Government but are delivered by trusted third and private sector organisations. Evidence shows that people are less likely to use services if they know they come from Government and so it is essential to promote the individual services to parents instead of publicising the programme. That’s why Parent Know How Needs you!
If you work directly with parents, or practitioners who work with parents, please consider taking these easy steps to drive parents to the Parent Know How services:
- Learn about the range of support offered to parents through the Parent Know How services.
- Signpost the Parent Know How services on your website by providing the following:
- a. live links to Parent Know How service websites
- b. brief descriptions of services
- c. contact details (helplines, emails, etc.).
- You can find all this information on the Parent Know How resource page.
- Take every opportunity to tell parents about the Parent Know How services that provide the support they may need.
- Print out the Parent Know How leaflet and pin the centre section up on the walls of your offices to remind you to signpost the services to parents.
