The Third Sector Group

The Department for Children, Schools and Families Third Sector Group was set up in October 2008 as a means of helping to strengthen the position of the third sector and enable it to play an increasingly active part in taking forward the Department’s agenda for children, young people and families. 

The group is made up of representatives from the key third sector infrastructure organisations, umbrella groups and direct delivery organisations able to speak on behalf of policy recipients and delivery organisations.

The group meets quarterly and is chaired by Peter Lauener, Director, Supporting Delivery Group, who is the Department’s third sector champion.
