The Third Sector Group

The DCSF Third Sector Group was set up in October 2008 to:

• help strengthen the influence of the third sector within DCSF, thus enabling it to play an increasingly active part in contributing to the Department’s agenda for children, young people and families; and
• hold the Department to account and enable it to understand more fully the implications of its policies for and on the third sector.

The group is made up of representatives from the key third sector infrastructure organisations, umbrella groups and direct delivery organisations able to speak on behalf of children, young people, families and delivery organisations.

The group meets quarterly and is chaired by Olivia McLeod, Director, Supporting Delivery Group, who is the Department’s third sector champion.
