Children, Young People and Families Grant (CYPF) programme
What is it?
The Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) Grant is a national programme to fund work by the third sector to improve outcomes for children, young people and families. It was introduced in April 2006 and provides a national source of funding that potentially supports any aspect of the Every Child Matters agenda and the Department’s Children's Plan.
Grants awarded for funding from April 2009
Delyth Morgan announced the results of the Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) grant programme starting in April 2009 on 24 December 2008.
More than 700 applications were received, 40 per cent more than last year and, from these, funding was offered to 107 bids.
The successful proposals cover a range of areas across a wide range of policies benefiting children, young people and families. The results demonstrate our continued commitment to the third sector and the value we place on its work.

Further sources of funding
Further information on other sources of government funding can be found on the Office of the Third Sector website.
Consultation on the grant programme
We will not be running an application round in 2009. Instead we plan to run a consultation to provide organisations in the sector with the opportunity to influence the future approach and shape of the grant programme. We plan to launch the consultation on 29 June 2009. Further information will be available from the Department’s consultations website.
