This is part 2 of a two-part toolkit of guidance to aid local authorities in rolling out the extended pilot offering free childcare provision for deprived 2-year-olds.

Part 2 of the guidance includes examples of good practice that were shared between local authorities and discussed at the DCSF conference in late 2008. They describe the experience of individual local authorities in delivering key aspects of the pilot.

Part 1 of the guidance includes the new DCSF guidance document (July 2009), a list of frequently asked questions, and an example of a job description for a Pilot Officer post.
