This self-assessment toolkit is designed to help local areas monitor and performance manage the implementation of their teenage pregnancy strategies to ensure actions are in line with the key guidance issued by the DCSF and the Department of Health (DH) to local authorities and primary care trusts (PCTs): Teenage pregnancy next steps (2006) and Teenage parents next steps (2007). This revised second edition merges the two previous prevention and support self-assessment toolkits and has an increased focus on tangible measure of strategy inputs, processes and outcomes. It is intended to be used as part of the annual planning and review cycle by the Teenage Pregnancy Partnership Board - or equivalent body - with accountability to the Children's Trust.
