Evaluations

Evaluation helps us to understand the effectiveness of our work. It assesses if an activity is delivering planned outcomes and examines strengths and weaknesses. It also helps us to monitor cost effectiveness and value for money.

Most importantly, the lessons learnt can be used to inform and improve future projects, as well as policy decision making.

This section contains evaluations of both national and local programmes, including examples of good practice.

It currently includes evaluation of Sure Start activities including early excellence centres; neighbourhood nurseries; local programmes; mini Sure Start programme and the national programme.
