Working in partnership through Early Support training
These two courses aim to embed the principles of Early Support in practice. Improvement of partnership working is at the heart of both courses. The training aims to promote an integrated and holistic approach to inclusion and children's rights, ensuring the delivery of culturally sensitive, appropriate, fair and equitable services for young disabled children and their families.
The courses take you through a range of activities that will help you work more effectively in the Early Support context, using the Early Support materials and exploring the processes of change and adaptation that families with a disabled child have to go through.
The two courses have been designed to meet similar training needs but for people who have different requirements and are suitable for parents and practitioners.
- The accredited course is an in-depth course which aims to help parents, carers, service managers and practitioners to go further in their understanding of Early Support principles and enhance the skills needed to make partnership working more effective. Parents/carers will benefit from this course in that they will gain a better understanding of 'the system' and increase their confidence in working within it. The course comprises three days of training, plus distance learning and assessment.
- The non-accredited course is similar in aims and content to the accredited course, but is shorter (two days), less in-depth and does not have distance learning or assessment. It is also suitable for managers, practitioners and families.
The Distance learning materials, in PDF format, were developed for the accredited course but are available to everyone who may be interested in Early Support.
