Rolling out Extended Schools

An Extended School offers access to a range of services which support and motivate children and young people to achieve their full potential. Working with the LA, local providers and other schools, they provide access to a core offer of integrated services which include:

Research evidence shows that Extended Schools can help increase children's attainment, confidence and motivation; help schools to reduce exclusion rates, and widen access to family support services.

Support for implementation

A consortium, comprising the Training and Development Agency (TDA), Continyou and 4Children, are providing support to LAs to help ensure all primary and secondary schools offer extended services by 2010.
