A wide range of help is available

Help with childcare costs is available from a range of sources. The following covers help for parents who are: very young; students; lone parents; entering training or work; or are already in work and want to use childcare. Promoting the update of tax credits

• Free early education places for 3-and 4-year-olds
• Child tax credit (CTC) and the childcare element of Working tax credit (WTC)
• New Deal - childcare support
• Employers' support towards childcare costs

The materials available are designed to assist in a programme of promoting the uptake of tax credits in authorities or organisations. They have been developed during detailed work with some LAs and are used to assist training.
