The vision set out in Youth Matters is being implemented through a number of innovative projects and approaches. Follow the links below to find out more.
- What is Youth Matters? - Background information and context for Youth Matters
- Targeted youth support toolkit - Targeted youth support arrangements will be implemented in all LAs by March 2008.
- Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund - The funds aim to empower young people and give them more choice and influence over provision and facilities.
- Things to do, places to go - Outlines new legislation containing duties on LAs to secure young people's access to sufficient positive activities and to provide information on positive activities
- Financial support for 16- to 19-year-olds - Covers a number of measures designed to support and encourage young people to stay in training or learning.
- Connexions - Funding and responsibility for delivery of services will pass to 150 LAs working through children's trust arrangements by 200
- Information, advice and guidance - From April 2008 LAs will assume overall accountability for the quality of young people's information, advice and guidance
- Volunteering - Following the Russell Commission report on youth action and engagement, the Government has set up a new charity, v, to support and enable young volunteers.
