Department for Children, Schools and Families

The Centre for Procurement Performance (CPP)

Centre for Procurement Performance (CPP)

The CPP website has now been decommissioned. CPP as a single entity no longer exists; its work having been integrated into the Department’s restructured Commercial Group.

This follows a hugely successful SR04 (Spending Review Period 04, covering 2004/05, 2005/06 and 2006/07) in which substantial efficiency savings were achieved across the education, skills, children, young people and families sectors. These savings have remained with individual institutions and services, to be redirected to frontline services, improving outcomes for citizens.

CPP reported efficiency savings for Spending Review Period 04

Further education (FE)

£72.7million

Higher education (HE)

£103 million

Schools

£76.7million

Children, young people and families (CYPF)

£108.3 million

Total efficiencies

£360.7million

But this is only the beginning. The challenge now is to build on this success and deliver on a new set of targets in CSR07 (Comprehensive Spending Review Period 07, covering 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10). The Commercial Group will continue to support all its stakeholders and customers by building sustainable, improved commissioning and procurement capacity in all its relevant sectors. We will achieve this by working with a range of delivery partners, and where appropriate, directly with individual institutions, authorities and service providers.
